Ulumul Hadits - Ilmu Hadits
Ulumul Hadits or Ilmu Hadits is an educational program designed to determine whether the narrations of various Hadiths compiled in Hadith books can be considered as evidence or not. Therefore, research needs to be conducted beforehand.
The study of Hadiths is not only focused on the content of the Hadith itself, commonly known as the matan hadith, but also on various aspects related to its transmission, specifically the sanad or chain of narrators who transmit the matan hadith to us.
The presence of narrators greatly influences the quality of the Hadith, both in terms of the sanad and the matan hadith. As these narrations require in-depth research and analysis to determine what is acceptable and what is rejected, it is essential to have principles and guidelines as a reference for Hadith critical studies.
There are many scholars of Hadith narration, but seven scholars are often referenced for their Hadiths. They are Imam Bukhari, Imam Muslim, Imam Abu Daud, Imam Tirmidhi, Imam Ahmad, Imam Nasa'i, and Imam Ibn Majah.
